The mission of the Oregon Tech Foundation is to further the educational, cultural, charitable, and service functions of Oregon Institute of Technology, or any successor or affiliated institution; to acquire financial support for these activities through gifts, grants, bequests, development campaigns or other types of transactions designed to create funds for the benefit of the university; to promote the public relations aspect of the university in order to improve the understanding of its programs among students, alumni, potential employers of graduates, friends of Oregon Institute of Technology and other individuals, groups, organizations or publics.

The Foundation Board is made up of alumni, community members, and friends of Oregon Tech. The Oregon Tech Foundation is a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Oregon Tech offers resources and staff to get students connected with local community-based support services in order to meet their basic needs with regards to financial instability, food-insecurity, housing needs locally, learning about navigating and applying to local, state, and federal need programs towards personal enrichment and student success. Campus-based programs for ALL students to benefit from include: Bird Feeder student food pantry, Owl Feathers Exchange clothing closet, and Book Depot textbook recycling program.

We want to make sure students, faculty, staff, and alumni have the opportunity to improve their cultural competencies. This initiative is building on our existing courses, trainings, divisions, and resources, recognizing both that we have faculty and staff expertise on some of these issues, and we can always benefit from outside experts from education and industry.

With the support of the institution, we can make a significant contribution to diversity and inclusion in polytechnic higher education, as well as make Oregon Tech a better place.

Polytechnic cultural competency means being able to respectfully interact with diverse populations right now. We realize that our students need to be prepared to thrive in a diverse workplace and world, that means knowing how to understand difference and communicate with folks and communities from varying backgrounds.

When we think of polytechnic cultural competency we consider designing databases that have inclusive gender options, developing culturally sensitive health interventions for Native populations, intervening in sexual harassment at a work site, or being a good collaborator on an international team. Oregon Tech can add to this conversation by centering cultural competency on the applied end.

Mission
Provide services to Oregon Tech's Student Support Services (SSS) eligible participants to significantly increase their academic achievement, retention, and graduation rates.

This Student Support Services Project is federally funded at $294,380 annually. Our objectives for the 2020-2025 grant cycle are:

1. Eight-one percent (81%) of participants served by the SSS Project will persist from one academic year to beginning of the next academic year or graduate.
2. Ninety-one percent (91%) of all enrolled participants served will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing at Oregon Tech (2.0 cumulative Oregon Tech GPA)
3. Fifty-one percent (51%) of new participants served each year graduated within six years.
